Do the hard thing first

To make sure you progress every day, you have to take even the smallest or easiest action. This is useful to help you take actions and get started when you don't feel like it.


But we usually procrastinate the hardest task, the one we don't like or don't know how to do. Also to avoid a difficult situation or conversation.


So how to make sure we don't get busy with easier or more pleasant tasks all day while the hard tasks don't get done?


Sometimes you got to start with the hard thing first. If you leave it for the end of the day, most likely you will push it to the next day, again and again.


Work on it first thing in the morning, when you're the most productive.

And then reward yourself if you need to. I usually keep my first coffee of the day after my first hour of work. When I have a long and tedious project to finish, I make sure to Netflix and chill only after it's done. It could be treating yourself to your favorite food or restaurant. Something you enjoy.


Don't leave it on your to do list. Don't do anything else before it's done.
